Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church

The Young Adults will meet on the first Sunday of the month at  6:30 pm in the church parlor.

The Up & Go Elders will meet on April 13th at 11:30 am.  Please bring your lunch; desserts and coffee are provided.  

The Ladies Aid will meet on Tuesday, March 23rd at 7 pm in the church social hall.  New faces are always welcome.

Lenten Soup Suppers: Every Wednesday throughout Lent we be holding a worship service and soup supper.  We need volunteers to make soups for each week.  At least 3 soups are needed.  Donations of bread and desserts can also be brought in.  There are sign up sheets on the bulletin board in the narthex including one for groups to volunteer to help with clean up.

Easter Lillies: It is time to place your order for Easter lily plants to grace the altar.  The cost this year is $8.25 per plant.  The deadline to order is Sunday, March 28th.  Please use the envelopes provided on the parlor window sill.  Remember to note "In Honor" or "In Memory" or somone.  You may either give your order with payment to Betty or Margie or place it in the collection plate. 

First Communion Classes: Recently letters were sent out to children who are in the age range for Holy Communion.  The classes will be held from 11:45 am to 1:45 pm on February 28th and March 14th.  Parents are required to attend along with their children.  Please bring a bagged lunch for parents and child.  They will receive their First Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday, April 1st. 

Gift Cards: You will again have the opportunity to order gift cards, this time for Easter giving.  The list of cards is the same as before and can be found on the bulletin board in the narthex and also in the March newsletter. The deadline to order is March 21st and delivery will be March 28th. 

Teaching Tuesdays: Sessions will be held on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. 

Fire Company Breakfast: The East Penn Township Fire Company hosts an All-You-Can-Eat breakfast the second Sunday of the month from 8 am to 12 pm.  The cost is $6.00 for an adult and $4.00 a child.  Consider supporting the local fire company by enjoying a hot breakfast either before or after worship!

Hospital Visitations: If you are admitted to the hospital be sure to inform them that you would like Pastor Pagotto notified.  Dinkey Memorial Church's code number is 370.  By giving the hospital that number they should have all the information on file to contact the church office.

Flower & Bulletin Sponsors: You may sign up to sponsor flowers and bulletins for 2010 by either signing the charts at the top of the social hall stairs or by calling Marjorie Balliet at 610-377-4740.  Call Margie to sponsor Strength for the Day, Devotion booklets and the Cemetery flag pole.  There are also openings to sponsor a memorial bowl.  It is appreciated if you pay at the end of the month for your sponsorship.  

Ink Cartridge Recycling will continue.  We recieve $3 credit for each one towards office supplies.  Put them in the green boxes designated for ink cartridges.  Please be careful to protect the ink heads from damage.

Food Pantry News: We need donations of smaller size cans and packages if possible.  Most of our recipients are only a one person family.  What we need most for the month of March: Instant potatoes, rice, canned beans, jams and jellies, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese dinners, canned salmon, tune, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, noodles, fruit, no-sugar cereals, pudding and jell-o, canned vegetables and soup.  The food pantry is also in need of some large paper grocery bags.  The food pantry has someone who has volunteered to make deliveries. Delivery will be around the second Wednesday of the month.
